Bilingual Patient Navigator
The Bilingual Patient Navigator works closely with both English-speaking and monolingual Spanish-speaking patients to minimize no-show appointments, maximize patient retention, and support medication adherence. Additionally, the Bilingual Patient Navigator is the liaison between ASHwell clinic and community pharmacies, insurance companies, pharmaceutical, public & private entitlement, and foundation-based patient assistance programs. The Bilingual PatientNavigator advocates for Spanish-speaking patients to ensure they receive all medication(s) prescribed by ASHwell medical providers.
Duties and responsibilities
-Specific qualifications include:
-Fluent in English and Spanish with proficient reading and writing skills in both languages.
-Exceptional customer service skills.
-Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to track patient issues.
-Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
-Knowledge of medical terminology.
-Must have high attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills. -Computer proficiency including strong skills using web-based applications and Microsoft office products.
-Strong communication and written skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse staff and populations.
-Ability to read, analyze, and convey complex information to a variety of audiences; ability to respond to questions related to these concepts.
Preferred qualifications:
-Experience working or volunteering in HIV/STI prevention or other community health programs preferred.
-Spanish language written proficiency and speaking fluency
-Experience working with electronic medical record platforms.
-Experience conducting Motivational Interviewing (MI)

Responsibilities:
-Leads the planning, organization, and strategic direction of the ASHwell’s operations,§ Development initiatives, and clinic and programs services.§
-Directly supervises senior level staff (ASHwell directors), including reviewing performance evaluation; ensuring departmental policies and procedures are well developed, executed, and followed; and measurement and reporting is accurate and reliable.
-Leads the implementation of consistent accounting policies, procedures, and operational reporting/metrics.
- Supervises the development and implementation of operations-based financial modeling.
- Leads and reports on ASHwell’s financial, development, clinic, program services, and other results to the Board of Directors.
- Leads the development of accurate and timely analyses that capture and communicate fundraising results, fund management, variances, and performance trends.
- Provides oversight and leadership of staff, consultants, and contracted services.
- Ensures all departments are appropriately resourced, funded, staffed, supported to maximize effectiveness.
- Coordinates and leads annual budget and performance reviews, monthly and quarterly reviews, and periodic forecast updates with operational and senior management.
- Reviews and approves funding proposals and reporting.
- Approves major budget-related activities and expenditures.
- Leads and maintains a cultural environment of encouragement, asset-based interactions and communications, positivity and productivity, and non-discrimination.
- Retains and develops a diverse, highly qualified staff and volunteers by providing career coaching, growth plans tied to performance evaluations, professional development, development related to anti-discrimination, including anti-racism, anti-sexism, anti-homophobia, anti- transphobia, and anti-xenophobia.
