Services Available

HIV prevention – ASHwell offers both PrEP and PEP services. PrEP and PEP are medication regimens that can reduce your chances of becoming HIV-positive if you have been exposed or are likely to be exposed to HIV. PrEP needs to be started before you are exposed to protect you. PEP can be used after a potential exposure but must be started within 72 hours to be effective. Because of the time sensitivity or PEP, if you are looking for services after hours on Friday or over the weekend, please do not hesitate to seek care at an emergency room or urgent care.

HIV care – ASHwell offers medical care services to all clients living with HIV. This includes lab testing, medical provider visits and medication management. ASHwell does not offer full scale primary care services, so it is important to maintain a primary care provider for any coexisting medical conditions. If you need help establishing care with a primary care provider, we will be happy to assist you with this process.

Hepatitis C treatment – ASHwell offers medical care for people living with Hepatitis C. Hepatitis C is a virus that, if left untreated, can cause severe liver problems including liver failure and liver cancer. Hepatitis C can be treated and almost always cured with a short course of medication therapy.

STI testing and/or treatment – ASHwell offers a limited number of appointments each week for STI testing for people who are not enrolled in our services for HIV prevention, HIV care or Hepatitis C treatment. Available appointments are booked on Monday for the week and typically fill up quickly. If we are unable to offer you an appointment, we will provide you with additional resources for other clinics in the community that have more capacity than ASHwell for STI testing and/or treatment.

Supportive services – for clients enrolled in ASHwell’s primary services for HIV prevention or HIV treatment, we can offer gender care/gender affirming hormone therapy and sexual health wellness exams. Our staff will be happy to provide you with additional information about these services when needed.
